Okay maybe I’m just imagining things, and maybe the masked man was merely Yu Fan’s brother, who has already been exposed in episode 21. And though Zhiming disappeared abruptly in episode 18, I have a feeling he’ll make a less-than-welcomed reappearance in the final few episodes as the masked man who has been blackmailing Yu Fan. But Zhiming stuck around for far more episodes than I had expected, and it looks like we will hardly get to see Weiyun in action as Senior VP again.
Then, she’d wipe her tears, pick herself up, and unleash the career woman that her Senior VP title so hopefully promised. I had initially thought that Zhiming’s character would play a largely introductory function – to flesh out Weiyun’s idealism in romance before steering her heart towards the path of harsh reality through a chop-chop, not-more-than 5-episode external affair. More about this when the ending is revealed on Friday. But then I thought, “nah, it’s a blockbuster afterall, they wouldn’t do this”. I somehow had a bad feeling that they would do the voting thing when I saw the opening shots for the show that left Jason dangling between Fei’Er and Tong Lin. I’m sure most of us would have heard by now that the viewers will be voting for their ending in zzsf *facepalm*.
